Bangkok, Finally!!

And so 2014 has been such a hectic year by far.

During my trimester break this May,
we managed to get outta Singapore and off to the Land of Smiles

......YES FINALLY!!!
(Been wanting to go there but failed do to the chaos in BKK)

So our trip was 5 days (kinda short, shopping & eating was always never enough!)

Arrival at Bangkok!

The hotel we stayed at! Great location and value for money!

At the highest floor!

Siam paragon, nothing much there, many high-end shops.

Som tam restaurant: 392/14 Soi Siam Square 5, Rama 1 RoadBangkokThailand

 Tom yum goong

Papaya salad- must try! (its super spicy though)

Fried chicken; YUM!

For Mango lovers

& so... we went go-karting. It was a thrilling experience!

Cha Tuk chak weekend market! It was really huge! Must visit if you're in Bkk over the weekends!

Simple yet delicious.

Their famous coconut ice-cream, you can choose the add ingredients to go with! Yummy & definitely great to battle the heat!

Pad Thai x Fried egg rice

Chinatown at Bangkok, nothing much there most shops were closed that day as it was a day before public holiday :(

Had to try the highly raved "After you" dessert cafe, we tried the one located at Silom Complex as it was rather empty. (The one at Siam paragon was super crowded)

Their branches: http://www.afteryoudessertcafe.com/branch.php?n=1

Shibuya Honey Toast; was alright not really "to-die-for"

Brownie with ice-cream

Thipsamai, famous pad thai restaurant:
313 Th Maha Chai | BanglamphuBangkokThailand

It was really good compared to all the pad thai we tried so far!

Our favourite street market ever; stretching through Siam!!

The best banana prata topped with condensed milk! OUR FAV DESSERT.
(We're usually afraid to try food at a street stall but as this was made on the spot we decided to give it a try!
It was SOOO NICE & we bought it thrice over the next few days)

 Macdonald's in Bangkok

Made a trip to Jim Thompson museum near our hotel:
Thanon Rama I, Bangkok 10400, Thailand

 Silk made from silkworms

Had to say the food at such restaurant in a museum is definitely much cheaper compared to the ones in Singapore.

Group photo! My sister met up with her friends in Bangkok!

Afterwards, we went to Health Land for some relaxing time!
What's a trip to Bangkok without thai massage :>

Getting ready to go in for our foot massage!

The place was really quiet and relaxing! Worth a trip! However, you may have to book in advance as it was quite crowded.

Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun)
158 Wang Doem Road Wat Arun, Bangkok Yai, Bangkok 10600 Thailand

I didn't go up all the way as I was afraid of heights :O

Beautiful place with a great scenery!

Next, we went through this plaza and took a short ferry to get to our cruise!

Arrived at Grand Pearl Cruise! Pardon the photo quality as it was taken with my phone, camera died :(

There we seatings indoor and outdoor and on the 2nd level.

 Buffet Dinner!

Amazing experience on board Grand Pearl cruise in Bangkok!

Next we visited the famous Wat Phra Kew and Grand Palace

Guys had to put on this funny pants, we laughed so hard!

For us girls it was alright! Do rmbr to put on a shirt so you don't have to rent a shaw too. Also, slippers are allowed, wore shoes thinking we had to :(

Afterwards we took a cab to union mall, wasn't much there would very much prefer Platinum Mall!

Tried this nutella crepe, was kinda expensive though.

& from full blast heat the weather changed so suddenly to a heavy downpour!

Traffic jam in Bangkok was horrifying! P.s, Most cab drivers cheat 'farangs' a.ka. tourists by simply quoting an outrageous price. A money saving tip is to go to any hotel, ask the staffs to hail a cab for you or ask for 'meter' yourself until you get a good driver ;)

 Taking their BTS!

Goodbye Bangkok!

It was certainly a shopping heaven (Though the guys were sooo bored, all they can do is eat)

Will return again soon~
xoxo
