3RD HONG KONG TRIP (PART 1)
Greetings all!
This is my first post- featuring Hong Kong, the country we've been to most often.
This is our 3rd trip there, lasting 36 days. So here goes…!
Our meal on arrival at the airport in Hong Kong.
Us at my uncle's house lobby! (It was still really cold that day)
In their supermarket.
This one's at FAIRWOOD, a common food store in HK like Cafe De Coral. The hot pot is yummy, a set costs about 48HKD.
(Only avail during dinner time)
(Only avail during dinner time)
Tram from causeway bay to central. Enjoying tram rides!
Central Station. Where we go often for Cotton On and H&M, my fav stores!
Great that there are lots of H&M outlets in HK and that the stuffs there are relatively cheaper when there's sale! (Outlets)
Their 'Yu Dan'- fishball noodles which is really tasty and diff from the ones in Sg
Mid-levels, Central- Longest escalator in Hong Kong. How to get there.
Tai Cheong Bakery- super nice egg tarts can be found there!
Here are the outlets. (We always go to the one at Lyndhurst Terrance, as it is conveniently located at Central)
Olympain City mall: Located at Olympic station.
From Olympian city, walking to Mongkok.
Mongkok Street!
Breakfast- they have different menus for Breakfast, Lunch, Tea Break and Dinner.
Dinner- Curry Chicken (Which isn't spicy at all)
Dinner too. SUPER yummy set with chicken, pork, beef skewers- must try!
Its about 40+HKD, can't rmbr the exact price, sorry.
p.s. ( the Ice lemon tea in HK is really great, with plenty slices of lemon!)
Itachio Sushi. They have many outlets in Hk, but we love the one at Tsim Sha Tsui best.
Fatty Salmon, Baked scallop, Salmon - DELICIOUS.
Joggingggg.
You can easily take a ferry from Tsim Sha tsui to get to Central (Hong kong island) which costs only $2.2HKD! Details here.
Mobile softee at Mongkok- Langham place!
Wong Tai Sin temple- place of tourist attraction. Get directions here.
A really sunny day!
Real good stuff, toast with chicken wing.
-OUR SMALL HIKE-
Such great scenery that we won't be able to see in Singapore.
So we took a short hike up a small hill from where we stayed in Tung Chung.
View of Citygate and Novotel Hotel.
Breath-taking view from above.
Marvelous experience.
~~~
-TAI-O FISHING VILLAGE-
Visit this site on how to get there.
They took us on a speed boat tour ($20HKD) to see pink dolphins and a trip round the village, but apparently we only manage to catch a mere 1 second of the pink dolphin that jumped out from a distance.
The cute dog we met!
Best soya bean curd, none in SG can compare to this, with its authentic taste + brown sugar.
It was a hot dayyyyy.
S$5 scallop- damage done.
Fishball and Chee cong fan.
Authentic egg pancake, using charcoal- THE BEST AMONG ALL WE'VE TRIED SO FAR.
Had a really peaceful and great time there.
Souvenirs from Tai-O!
~~~
-DISCOVERY BAY-
The beach looks really great & the houses there are like resorts. This place really didn't feel like HK. Totally felt like I was in Mini America as most staying there are Caucasians.
Inner part of Discovery Bay which we explored, it was really hard to get to.
Some girl jumping from the rocks. Haha.
It was really a fantastic rocky place.
~~~
-OUR CYCLING EXPEDITION TO DISNEYLAND-
We rented our bikes from Sunny Bikes located at Yat Tung Estate, Tung Chung. You have to take a bus from Tung Chung station to get there.
For just about $50HKD (so much cheaper than in Sg) we get to rent it for 4 hrs & went ahead on our LONG cycling trip to Disneyland- which I strongly discourage unless you're a cycling enthusiast.
P.s. (If you are really exhausted from cycling you can actually call the shop to send a van to fetch you back. We only found out about this after returning the bikes omg. )
Cycling by the road towards Disneyland Resort.
There're few cars here, mostly discovery bay shuttle buses but do remember to keep to the side of the road.
The longest road ever cycled.
FINALLY.
Cycling a total of 16km, & later another 16km back, total 32km with wind against us- we almost died.
& thus, this concludes our 3rd trip in Hong Kong!
