Boise + Salt Lake City, IDAHO
Hello readers,
I'm finally reviving my travel blog once again...! 👅
The past months has been nothing short of excitement and challenge for us, especially since we're miles apart from our family & our home.
🚘
Love all the pretty flowers/ trees- Taken in Spring!
Anyways, we have been integrating well and I am really thankful for all the travels we have done aside the crazy changes in our lives.
Slowly exploring West USA; and here's a short post on some fun stuffs we did around Idaho (well part of it) - Boise/ Salt Lake City
..
.
Hiking at Tablerock Trail, Boise ; this was in March
Bruneau Dunes State Park ; we went there in August when it was still Summer.
Think it was $5 entry fee per vehicle, best to go in the morning when they open at around 9am - the Sun isn't so scorching yet as the sands will get REALLY hot, I'm sure its fine now in Autumn but it might get pretty chilly.
& you can rent the sand boards at the visitor's center easily.
It can get rather tiring to climb all the way up to the top, but well the view is pretty!
White water rafting at Payette river, Boise, just us enjoying the Summer-fun activities!
CJ-strike dam:
Paddle board and jet ski 🔥
Horseback riding in Silver City- This place was pretty interesting and historical, more info here
Ride was really great, except that our butt hurts after 🐎 👀
SALT LAKE CITY SHORT TRIP (AUGUST 2017)
Checked into Sheraton Hotel - costed ard $90++/night booked from Hotwire (good deal!)
Location is great and they have a small pool area + jaccuzi. (so rmbr your swimwears!)
OH and we had so much good food around SLC, all the ramen, Chinese food, pancakes, burgers, Dim Sum... One of our fav has got to be Jinya Ramen Bar (located at South State St)
Also, here's a list of some food places we visited amongst the many:
- Red maple chinese restaurant (Dim sum)
- Penny Ann's Cafe (For really awesome pancakes - go early to avoid the crowd, esp on weekends ; they open at 7am)
- Dim Sum House
- Tosh's Ramen (can be missed, Jinya wins hands down)
- Eggs in the city (nice ambience)
- Mom's kitchen (Taiwanese food; felt average)
Some sights around Downtown Seattle:
City Creek Center / Temple Square / Tabernacle on Temple Square (pics below):
Look at those lovely flowers!
And we also went crazy-grocery shopping at Chinatown market (cause there isn't one near us)
And for those who are keen - T&T gun range :
Was kinda fun experience for us!
Also, we were getting bored with downtown and decided to explore further; found this really great Hot Spring area - Fifth water hot springs
Be prepared to hike for about an hour or so, depending on your speed, but trust me it's worthwhile!
Finally got here after about an hour hike
Enjoying our Hot spring FINALLY ; as we were pretty beat up by then
We also went to a few Outlets in SLC, we did a quick research and found 2 best ones nearby:
- Tanger Outlets Parkcity (about 30mins from downtown)
- Traverse Mountain Outlet, pic below (25mins from downtown)
Nonetheless, we managed to catch a glimpse of The Great Salt Lake too:
Till then,
XX
