8 best food guide in Maui, Hawaii
Hey there readers!
Just arrived back from paradise island, Maui and thought it'll be nice to do a special update on the best food we had in Maui! Yeah it's not just sun, sand & sea - the food is pretty good too (though it's more costly than Oahu, with each decent meal costing around USD30 for 2)
Ok so here're my top 9 picks (not in order):
1. Tamura's Express , Poke bowl @ Wailuku
$
(its actually in a supermarket so look out for it)
2. Kahaku's smoke shack , @ Road to Hana
$$
(we ordered the Hawaiian platter its pretty costly ard USD20 but food was limited along Road to Hana. Meat was really tasty & its good for 2!)
3. Island fresh cafe , Coconut ice cream @ Paia
4. Paia fish market , fish & chips @ Paia town
$
This fish & chips tasted really unique & it was SO good we had it twice! The Q can be pretty long during lunch/din hrs but its worth the wait! 💗 They have a few outlets so look out for it.
5. Kihei Caffe @ Kihei town
$
A very nice place for breakfast, it can get really crowded but lots of seating available. Portion is pretty huge so it might be good to share. Also, they close at 2 so be there earlier for brunch or brekkie!
6. Slappy cakes @ Lahaina
$$
They open early at 7am so its a great place to start your day early; pancakes are awesome, they also have DIY pancakes which we didn't go for (great for kids)✌
7. Star noodle @ Lahaina
$$
Wait could take up to 1/2h but we left our numbers and headed back when they called. Their pork bun was really good and they have pretty decent ramen too!
8. Kinaole Grill food truck @ Kihei
$
Worth mentioning:
Aunty sandy's banana bread @ Haiku $
Da fish shack @ Road to hana $ (one of the best fish&chips as well, its a roadside truck so they close pretty early)
Monkey pod kitchen by Merriman @ Kihei $$$ (nice alfresco dining w/ awesome sunset view)
